Will blowing a guy off for hooking up at a movie make him want you more or less?

So we have been texting for awhile and he is of course a player but he's also nice and kind of sweet. I don't like him but I wouldn't mine dating him. I just told him that I was with my friend working who kind of hates him but so does her whole group because her bff dated him. Sorry veryyy confusing haha. But will this make him want to hook up more or less now. He is a prep and some of my other guy friends think this is just me teasing him..... any ideas? thanks so much or listening to this stupid high school drama :)
