Base for small bell jar.?

ok so i need s base for a small bell jar. I want the jar to be seven inches internal, under eight outside. i have 10 mm mild steel plate. I have edwards pump to use. The base plate is 8*8 inch. The surface is a little warn. What should i place between the jar and plate.. I plan on putting a metal cage round it for safety. The project is a small home fusion reactor. People say they wnt work. I can't get over my crush?

In seventh grade, this guy came to my school and he was nice, sensitive, funny and smart..-basically everything I like in a boy. I started liking him, and now we're going to be sophomores and I still like him. Come August, I will have liked him for 3 years and I just can't get over him. I can't find the guts to tell him how I feel because I don't think he likes me back because I think I'm just not good enough for him. Every thing I do, I'm always thinking of him, like I can't get my mind set on something else. He smiles at me all the time. Is there something wrong with me?

It occurs to me that for a better portion of my 17 years of life, my personality seems a tad warped, I'm generally polite to strangers, I may tease a bit and all that friendly stuff. Why is my guy friend acting weird?

Hiya, I've been friends with a guy for nearly 2 years.We joked around in lower school and teased eachother (the nice way). I suddenly began having feelings for him at the end of our last year. He was my best friend and we even hanged round with eachother at the end of school.When summer was over we moved to upper school. There were loads of people who were strangers and we decided to stick by eachother. We were tight for the next 3 months and were always lab partners. Then the next month everything became different. We started to drift apart slowly and I noticed slight changes in him. Like he always used to talked to me and at break we used to see eachother. I think that she does it to annoy me because she dosen't do it to any other boy and it is always where I can see them. I was in the field one day and I noticed that him and his friends were looking at me, In a weird way. I don't know what was going on but they were smiling. Another strange thing happened. I was walking in the corridor to go to the library and him, his sister and two other boys were standing by the Walls. They also were looking at me weirdly too and they said something but I don't know what they said. A week ago as well he was telling all these jokes and I swear that he looked at me 4 times to see if I was laughing. Rat cage cleaning question?

We have rats. We have two cages that are plastic bins withe a wire top and wood planks and ladders so its three stories. We love these cages but we have one problem. The rats pee on the planks of wood. Its disgusting. I read that rats pee in one corner or area but these guys (two males in one cage and two females in the othee) pee everywhere. The girls are a little cleaner but still pee everywhere. The wood is unfinished. At the moment we have removed them for cleaning in hopes that rats will sort of "potty train" themselves. Any tips on how to train them, finish the wood with a pet-approved sealant, or keep them clean at least?

How much torque should i put on these screws?

I am replacing my motorcycles transmission gasket. It was leaking alot of oil. The new gasket has been placed on the transmission with gasket sealant. I ran over the gasket with the blunt side of a razor blade to try and get out air bubbles and get it nice and flush. I am curious how much torque I should put on the 14 screws that go into this cover. The socket size I am using is 8 mm. The bike is a Honda, so it is all metric. What size are the screws if I'm using a 8mm socket on them? How much torque should I put on them all?

How to seal foam hair rollers to paint over them?

I'm doing up a craft project and these cheap foam hair curlers are perfect. But the only problem is, I'm not sure how to seal them so I can paint over them. I'm using a white glue/fabric glue/water mixture for the rest of the craft foam but these rollers are basically a sponge so I'm not sure this sealant mixture will be enough. Any ideas?

I have had a mouse problem for years. I called my council to send pest control but all they do is put poison down and come every few weeks to check if its being eaten. Has anyone used a head gasket sealant?

the problem is usually a fix works on a specific type of head gasket leak, if the leak is from coolant to air or coolant to combustion chamber it may seal and sometimes last. but if it goes from coolant into the oil, the crap you pour in gets into the oil, which helps distribute this crap everywhere eventually ruining the engine. Its best to get a head gasket fixed by a mechanic. If it has not ruined the bottom end bearings its usually fixable. If you push it too far by keeping on driving and doing what you want, you end up like my friend larry. I told him park it before it blows up, so he keeps driving and it does blow up that's what happens next.

I moved to this school in fifth grade. Now I'll be going into freshman year. During the summer of fifth and sixth grade I went to the school to hang out with my best friend at the time(A girl). On the way there as we passed the gas station, there was a group of the more jock-like guys, who I do not like because they were very rude and judged people A LOT. Yes, we did have jock-ish people at that time, more mild then, though. Story short- we got called losers, fatties, bitches, etc., but went on. To my surprise, he was in my 6th grade class. Well, I avoided him because of his douche-ish acts. After that was over... I caught him staring at me. That went on for the rest of the school year. While we were at a week long camp(in May), he was in my group, one thing on my mind- oh joy... I told this kid who I joke around with a lot that I, jokingly, hated him, the guy who I'm asking the question about(who I'll nickname 'boy') was behind me talking to a guy. I was told that I should get sealants on my child's teeth. What are they and are they really necessary?

Sealants are clear/white coating that is put on the pits and fissures of biting surfaces of posterior teeth. It is pretty much like nail polish we put on teeth, there is no numbing or anything. It is painted on then dried with a light or either air drys depending on what kind of sealant is placed. We try to do this right as the permanent teeth come in so there is no chance of decay while they are still erupting. I would recommend getting a glass ionomer sealant because it has a fluoride releasing agent and is actually a chemical bond between the tooth instead of a tradition sealant that is like a plastic coating over the tooth. But both do the job of prevent decay. They can get expensive in private practice but it should be fine with insurance. If you are worried about the cost you can always check the local dental hygiene clinic and they are really cheap.

Can you put BIN Zinzer shellac based primer over top of vinyl flooring?

Just tore up some very soiled carpet and there's very old vinyl underneath. It's also stained and smells. I'm using this primer as a sealant in other rooms with wood floors. Wondering if I can also use it over the vinyl to cover up the stains and odors, too?

Okay, so my boyfriend and I have been going out for almost 3 months. About three weeks ago, I met his mom on her birthday party, got her a nice and expensive gift (she's really rich), and she seemed to like me a lot. Builders have done a botched job. Where do I stand legally?

I had my house refurbished just over a year ago... At the time I had problems with leaking appliances eg washer and also the bathroom that they installed due to poor workmanship. I own a share of the freehold and the appliances leaked to the downstairs flat. Not good. Anyway they fixed the leaks and everything seemed ok. The sealant on the shower failed as a result of it not being shower sealant, was roof sealant. Anyway it leaked again. Downstairs had to take down their ceiling and I then saw the extent of damage caused my the leak, rotting joists etc etc. Anyway I got a professional in and he said it was poor workmanship and fixed it all. I then got him to look at the kitchen stuff and that required work too eg pipes were sealed with gaffer tape etc. Anyway have spent over �500 sorting it out. And myself and downstairs have had to issue a claim for the damage downstairs, something that I feel we shouldnt have to. Anyway I employed a interior design firm to carry out the work on my house and they sub contracted to other builders. Do I legally have any sort of come back for the expenses I have incurred? I haven't contacted the firm yet as I wanted to get advice first. I have kept all emails, invoices etc also the plumber that did the work said he would go on record saying it was a botch job. Any help you can offer would be greatly received!!

Do i need a permit if i change my garage into a temporary room?

I'm afraid you will need planning permission to 'change the use of the room', we were going to do the same for our daughter for when she stays during breaks from uni but have found out that the amount of paperwork and legal crap involved even for temporary use made it a non-starter. There were all sorts of rules about health and safety and required certificates concerning building regulations. Unfortunately unless you are going to do it fully with all the planning permission etc you are standing on very tricky ground, good luck.

I also overheard her talking with her friend who said she had a dream that her child was gay. My mom responded, thinking she was being witty, by saying, "That's a nightmare, not a dream." I do not understand how my mom said she would accept me, and then goes on to express these borderline homophobic views. She never expresses any true hostility, and I truly believe she understands homosexuality as being an inborn trait and that all individuals deserve respect. It is just that she cannot let herself be comfortable with the idea of same-sex marriage and families. She is an extremely loving and supporting mother. You can now buy a polyurethane caulking at home depot. i would imagine it is elsewhere too. Just be sure to roughen the surface to enhance adhesion. epoxy and polyurethane also will stick together.

It really depends upon where the leak is occurring, as to what type of repair is required. Check the outside around the window to see if that's where the moisture is seeping in. Next check around the soffitt area to see if there's a place where water is entering. If you only repair the area where the mold is forming, you won't stop the moisture from coming in and causing subsequent damage.

A/C compressor leakage?

I have a 2003 Chevy Impala, and the bottom of my A/C compressor is leaking (Very small leak though). Oil combi boiler repair - plate heat exchanger?

The expansion vessel will be light when first fitted as it only has air in it until the system is turned on and starts to expand then some water will enter it as thats what its intended to do. You should not need to use PTFE tape on these fittings as they should all have sealing washers on them. As you have not mentioned the make of boiler I cannot say what material they should be but you should be able to get a replacement set from where you obtained the expansion vessel. Replace them all is best practice as some materials will harden and fail to seal on reuse.

I may have been molested as a child by my brother. Should I tell family members?

Recently my incredibly weird half brother has been imprisoned (again) and my Father seems to bend over backwards to help him get on his feet. This is hard for me to watch because of the following: In my adult life I have always recalled moments of inappropriate times with my brother. Why does my recently installed engineered hardwood flooring smell bad?

The wood was glued down over vinyl tile from the 50's, which could possibly have asbestos in them. We were told it was best to put a sealant over the tiles, rather than having them removed and expose the possible asbestos. Anyway, so whenever we drink alcohol in our house now, we can taste this horrible rubbery, glue taste. Even if I use my hairspray, my first breath I can taste that rubbery taste in my mouth! I know, strange! It has been over 2 weeks now, and am hoping that it is just from the adhesive used for the floors and will dissipate...but I am scared that I am inhaling something dangerous. I don't feel sick...would simply love to enjoy a glass of wine in my home! Has anybody experienced this, or know why this is happening?!?!?

KX 250 1999 Crankcase question?

I've been doing a rebuild on my kx 250. The problem i'm running into is when putting the lower case halves together. I'm using RTV sealant w/o a gasket. After the RTV is set and I begin to press the crank/bearing into the left side case everything is fine. When i go to tighten the crankcase bolts the transmission seizes...when the bolts are loose it rotates freely but the second I put any pressure on the crankcase bolts the transmission gears seize. Could the lack of a gasket cause this or is it possible im missing a spacer or have one on backwards. It goes from turning with 2 fingers to seized in about 1/16-1/8". My process of using the RTV is put a thin layer on both halves of the crankcases...let sit for 10 min...and then tighten until it begins to come out from between the halves...no gap between the halves. HELP!!!! I'VE TAKEN THIS THING APART 3X SO FAR...GETTING VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

Why does my car sputter when i start it?

I have a 2000 honda civic lx. My radiator blew one day and and had a friend replace it for me. I then had to next replace the muffler. My car ran fine until the muffler had to be replaced. My car then started to sputter while I drove it. i then replaced the muffler and got a tune up. this stopped the sputtering while I was driving. I then started to have coolant problems again. I went to get this checked out and the water pipe gave, so I replaced it along with the timing belt and other belts. I now have sputtering when i start the car for about 10 seconds. It may be worse when the weather is colder rather than nothing when hot, but the weather is to inconsistent here to judge properly. I tried getting some liquid sealant to run through my radiator. when I bought the good stuff it seemed to stop the sputtering but a couple of days later it got drastically colder and went back to sputtering. It seems if I have just gone for a drive long enough to heat my engine that if i stop and turn on and off the engine there is no sputtering. I have checked the dipstick and there is no white in the oil. i have checked the reservoir to the coolant and there is are a few black spots of liquid and the overall color is tinted gray instead of bright green. I feel this is not oil but is the fiberglass sealant that i have added to the radiator. When I look at the exhaust system when it runs it smokes a slight white color but it looks like it is nothing abnormal. Along with this smoke spits out a few water droplets at a time,continuously. When I look at the engine while it runs it doesn't seem to leak anything and there is no fluids splashed anywhere.I am hoping it is not the head gasket. Does anyone have any ideas? I also had a pressure test done and that's when the water pump was fixed. I asked them if they ran the pressure test again and they said they did and everything turned out fine. All work was done with the exception of the radiator at a suburban monro muffler shop. I figured kinda pricey but they seemed less shady about there workmanship than a lot of places. I would assume that all work done to car thus far was done aquatically enough to dismiss reason for the problem.

use styrofoam sheets and aquarium sealant or some kind of glue that's safe for fish. You can carve it out to the shapes rocks or whatever you want. Then paint it. Even if the ph rises you can use other things to bring it back down like driftwood or certain rocks. But besides that the styrofoam or sealant shouldn't affect the ph. You can use Drylock or similar products but that will not solve the problem completely. You have to determine why the water is getting to the wall to begin with. If the ground around the house has a negative pitch - meaning sloping down towards the house - that has to be fixed to divert rain water away from the foundation. If you see any cracks on the exterior they need to be repaired. All downspouts should be aimed away from the house and extensions put on if necessary.

Can I run "sea-foam" engine sealant through a jet ski motor?

I Feel Really Sick? What is this and how can I get rid of it?

I get stomachaches every day, but I'm not sure if this is just part of the daily routine. On Wednesday, I was at the barn my mom works at doing some chores, and I overheard the owner and one of the instructors at the farm talking about how someone that was really sick was there the day before. Apparently they threw up and had diarrhea in the bathroom for a long time. I used the Bathroom before this conversation not knowing. My mom said I'm fine and I didn't get it, but i'm not so sure. today, My stomach made weird gurgling noises and I ate thinking i was hungry, but now i feel awful, warm and like I'm going to throw up. Am I really sick, or is it just part of the daily regimen?

So here's the story in a nutshell. I've known this girl since freshman year (I'm a rising junior). We've recently become close friends and I feel like we trust one another. I recently revealed to everyone that I'm asexual (I don't want to have relationships/sex) a couple of months ago, but now I feel like I might be in love with my friend. I've never felt this way for another person. She recently got a girlfriend, but it's a long distance relationship (they've never met in person and she claims "I don't know if I'm gay or anything"). She kept trying to talk to me by rubbing her hand all the way down my arm, she also starts calling me by my nickname, which she had made up but then taken away during that period of being a *****...my teacher took my drum sticks away and she just yells out 'awww poor jorgie'...I tried ignoring her but she just got pissed and said if I keep ignoring her she would delete me off her blackberry messenger....she also moved to the seat in front of me and started stretching back and putting her hair in my face....the next day they were officially going out....but then she moved to the seat in front of me and started doing the same hair thing and we were watching a movie in class that day, so she kept turning around to ask me about the movie and I was on my phone and all of a sudden she turns around and asks me 'what are you doing' and I just reply 'what?' And she just turns around going 'nothing'.... i curse all the time, but i limit it when i'm with my parents. me and my siblings go "yo, n*gger!" when we see eachother (we're all mixed race) and it's kind of funny, we do it to other black/mixed people and they take it fine. i use f*ck and sh*t and b*tch most, and words like w*nker and b*stard rarely. i never say c*nt, my parents would murder me. i do it in public and in private, and usually i say it because i'm frustrated, i'm greeting a mate or i've hit myself by accident (likely to stub my toe) and then yell "oh you f*cking sh*t b*tch!" ...but, meh. i don't curse as much as i used to.

My husband works in a call center and with his old manager he had a 15 minute leniency and now that he has a new manager they have taken it away, well with the new manager she was talking about how if hes late or gone again hes fired when with his old manager he oked the lates and absences b/c he was taking our girls to appointments and other things b/c I have a bad back from having two preg. back2back. Do dental sealants hurt?

I'm getting sealants on my teeth tomorrow since I have groovy teeth. I am very afraid of shots. I am 14 and rarely ever get them and haven't had any blood drawn or anything like that since I was about 10. My dentist said, "No shots, minimal if any". Do sealants require shots at all or not? If he suggests a painkiller, will the pain be mild enough to bear without a shot?
