Can dental sealants stick to dental fillings and is it possible and worth it to do this if for free?

In more detail amalgam (silver) fillings really bother me when I see them in my mouth and I was wondering since sealants are white and my insurance policy gives them free if I can put these sealants on my teeth with the amalgam fillings because I am honestly getting sick of seeing them and I can not afford composite (white) fillings.
